According to Swami Vivekananda “Yoga is the science which teaches us how to get these perceptions (of truth, of religious experiences )”. The science of Yoga proposes to put before humanity a practical and scientifically worked out method of reaching this truth. Therefore, Swami Vivekananda’s pioneering mission was to preach the eternal message of Yoga to the world at large.Swamiji preached Yoga in its unique four quadrant model – the Yoga of devotion (bhakti yoga), yoga of concentration (raja-yoga), yoga of knowledge (jnana-yoga), yoga of action(karma yoga). Swamiji’s Raja Yoga has its uniqueness in synthesizing Yoga, Tantra and Sankhyan thoughts. The Jnana Yoga has its uniqueness of ‘Practical Vedanta’ component in it. Finally Swamiji’s idea of yoga-samanvaya, engulfing all the four yogas is also unique in its own way. This webinar focusses on these unique aspects of Swamiji’s Four Yogas and their synthesis.
